Application Methods & Directions of Use

Woof Oil is exceptionally easy to use, below are four common uses and three easy techniques for using essential oils on your furry friend.

Calming for anxious, stressed, or hyper dogs: apply a few drops of cedarwood oil to your fingers/hands and pet directly to the scruff of the neck for short-haired dogs or you can rub on the inside of the ears for long-haired dogs. Woof Oil takes advantage of your dog's strong sense of smell. You can reapply after the scent fades. Cedarwood can be combined with frankincense and lavender Woof Oils for greater results.

Irritated or itchy skin: apply a few drops to your fingers and apply to the irritated or itchy area, this is called a topical application. The benefits come when your dog's skin absorbs the oil, allowing the lavender oil to penetrate deep into the skin. You can reapply once the oil has been absorbed. Frankincense can be paired with lavender Woof Oil for greater results.

Training: before training, apply a few drops of lavender oil to your fingers/hands and pet directly to the scruff of the neck for short-haired dogs or you can rub on the inside of the ears for long-haired dogs. Woof Oil takes advantage of your dog's strong sense of smell. Lavender can be combined with frankincense and Cedarwood Woof Oils for greater results.

Inflammation or arthritis: apply a few drops to your fingers and then apply to the inflamed area, this is called a topical application. The benefits come when your dog's skin absorbs the oil, allowing the frankincense oil to penetrate deep into the skin. You can reapply once the oil has been absorbed. Frankincense can be paired with lavender Woof Oil for greater results.

  • Tipping the ears - This technique involves applying a few drops of Woof Oil onto your fingertips and stroking your dogs' inner ears. This works great for dogs with long hair.
  • Petting application - This technique involves applying Woof Oil to your hands, rubbing them together, and then petting your dog on the scruff of the neck. This is a great technique for emotional applications, allowing your furry friend to absorb the calming effects of the essential oils while you massage them gently.
  • Direct topical application - This technique involves applying oil drops directly to your dog's skin or fur. This method is great for full-body support, and in the case of a specific location of concern, you can use the "drip and rub" technique. This technique involves placing a puddle of blended essential oils into the palm of your hand, putting a bit on the tip of your finger, and then dabbing it onto the location of concern

Just like we do for ourselves, we should spot test to ensure our friends have no allergies, and this also allows for our pups to get used to the new aromas.

A little bit goes a long way!

Woof Oil is safely diluted and by following these techniques and using high-quality essential oils, you can safely incorporate essential oils into your furry friend's wellness routine.

Woof Oil can be used on a wide range of ailments and the suggested use above is general in nature. Should you plan to use Woof Oil for a specific ailment, we recommend contacting your holistic vet.
